The contract involves widening from two to four lanes the expressway for about seven miles and building a 6,500-foot-long bridge parallel to another one built in 2015, as well as two other bridges over local roads. It will extend the Poinciana Parkway north to County Road 532 at the limits of Osceola and Polk counties.
The project is needed to ease traffic congestion and improve regional connections for Osceola drivers in light of the county having the second highest growth rate in Florida.
Contractor: The Lane Construction Corporation (US subsidiary of the Webuild Group)
